Mothers & Sons: Auditions Nov. 28
Lincoln Community Playhouse will hold auditions for Mothers & Sons by Terrence McNally on Monday and Tuesday, November 28 and 29, at 7 p.m., with callbacks on Wednesday, November 30, at 7 p.m. at the Playhouse. Register for auditions at www.lincolnplayhouse.com. Auditions will consist of readings from the script, which LCP provides. Scott Glen will direct.
Roles:
KATHARINE GERARD - late 40s to 60s
CAL PORTER - 30s to 40s
WILL OGDEN - 20s to 30s
BUD OGDEN-PORTER - boy, looks 6-8 years old (must be at least 8 years old to audition)
Scripts are available for 48-hour checkout at the box office (hours 11a-5p Monday through Friday, closed 4:30p Wednesdays).
Rehearsals will begin December 5 with performances January 20-22, 26-29, 2017. There will be a holiday break.
At turns funny and powerful, Mothers and Sons portrays a woman who pays an unexpected visit to the New York apartment of her late son's partner, who is now married to another man and has a young son. Challenged to face how society has changed around her, generations collide as she revisits the past and begins to see the life her son might have led. This is a timely and provocative play that explores our evolving understanding of family in today's world.
