Stage Manager
- assume all responsibilities common to stage management;
- coordinate and attend production meetings;
- manage cast documents and tracking;
- act as central communication (in coordinating with the Playhouse staff) for the production team;
- attend and assist the director(s) during auditions, all rehearsals, and performances through the closing performance;
- coordinate a scene shift plot and assignments before tech, per established deadlines;
- maintain the artistic and technical integrity of the production throughout the performance run, in alignment with expectations established in advance with the Executive Director and Production Director(s);
- coordinate paper tech, tech, dress rehearsals with production team and Playhouse staff;
- call the show;
- adhere to all rules and safety guidelines of the theatre, as well as scene shop etiquette rules;
- help maintain a professional, positive, safe [both physical and mental] environment for rehearsals and performances;
- be mindful of actor and stage crew volunteers’ time;
- adhere to the the Playhouse’s boundaries regarding finances, resources, personnel, and Playhouse staff time;
- understand and respect that the Playhouse staff is always working on more than one show at a time and will prioritize show needs appropriately;
The Executive Director retains final artistic authority and may make adjustments to serve the best interests of the Playhouse, while honoring the contractor’s role and creative contributions.
Stipend starts at $1,000.
