Employment

Contractor agrees to:

1. assume all responsibilities common to music conductor;
2. work with Music Director to implement music between actors, technicians, orchestra;
3. If applicable, coordinate keyboard programming:
   1. obtaining keyboard programming by purchase (with budgetary permission from the ED of course) 
   2. programming the software themselves
   3. finding someone to program the software
   4. conceiving a plan to protect the integrity of the score without the keyboard programming
4. attend all orchestra rehearsals, tech rehearsals, dress rehearsals through the final performance; 
5. attend production meetings as requested or needed;
6. recruit musicians, conduct orchestra rehearsals;
7. conduct performances
8. follow Guest Director Guidelines (attachment A); 
9. protect the quality of the show during the performance run in accordance with agreements made with the Playhouse’s Executive Director; 
10. help maintain a professional, positive, safe [both physical and mental] environment for rehearsals and performances;
11. be mindful of actor and stage crew volunteers’ time;
12. adhere to the the Playhouse’s boundaries regarding finances, resources, personnel, and Playhouse staff time;
13. understand and respect that the Playhouse staff is always working on more than one show at a time and will prioritize show needs appropriately;

The Executive Director retains final artistic authority and may make adjustments to serve the best interests of the Playhouse, while honoring the contractor’s role and creative contributions.

Stipend is $45 per service.
