Charge Artist
- assume all responsibilities common to charge artist;
- consult and meet regularly with Technical Director and Scenic Designer on executing the design;
- attend production meetings once scenic renderings are presented;
- adhere to budget provided by the Technical Director;
- consult with technical director to schedule paint times, including time to allow items to dry before rehearsal;
- track rehearsal and performance reports to make touch ups as needed prior to preshow schedule for next performance;
- keep shop paint area organized and cleaned;
- adhere to all rules and safety guidelines of the theatre, as well as scene shop etiquette rules;
- help maintain a professional, positive, safe [both physical and mental] environment for rehearsals and performances;
- be mindful of actor and stage crew volunteers’ time;
- adhere to the the Playhouse’s boundaries regarding finances, resources, personnel, and Playhouse staff time;
- understand and respect that the Playhouse staff is always working on more than one show at a time and will prioritize show needs appropriately;
The Executive Director retains final artistic authority and may make adjustments to serve the best interests of the Playhouse, while honoring the contractor’s role and creative contributions.
