Choreographer

  1. assume all responsibilities common to choreography;
  2. assist Director to prepare, attend and conduct auditions as scheduled; cast, schedule and rehearse the play;
  3. create and choreograph dances; 
  4. train and rehearse actors in choreography during rehearsal process;
  5. attend ALL rehearsals through the opening performance; 
  6. attend production meetings as requested or needed;
  7. work musical staging needs and show flow;
  8. follow Guest Director Guidelines (attachment A); 
  9. protect the quality of the show during the performance run in accordance with agreements made with the Playhouse’s Executive Director; 
  10. help maintain a professional, positive, safe [both physical and mental] environment for rehearsals and performances;
  11. be mindful of actor and stage crew volunteers’ time;
  12. adhere to the the Playhouse’s boundaries regarding finances, resources, personnel, and Playhouse staff time;
  13. know the Playhouse staff is always working on more than one show at a time and will prioritize show needs appropriately;
  14. understand and respect that the Playhouse staff is always working on more than one show at a time and will prioritize show needs appropriately;

The Executive Director retains final artistic authority and may make adjustments to serve the best interests of the Playhouse, while honoring the contractor’s role and creative contributions.

Stipend starts at $1,500.
