Choreographer
- assume all responsibilities common to choreography;
- assist Director to prepare, attend and conduct auditions as scheduled; cast, schedule and rehearse the play;
- create and choreograph dances;
- train and rehearse actors in choreography during rehearsal process;
- attend ALL rehearsals through the opening performance;
- attend production meetings as requested or needed;
- work musical staging needs and show flow;
- follow Guest Director Guidelines (attachment A);
- protect the quality of the show during the performance run in accordance with agreements made with the Playhouse’s Executive Director;
- help maintain a professional, positive, safe [both physical and mental] environment for rehearsals and performances;
- be mindful of actor and stage crew volunteers’ time;
- adhere to the the Playhouse’s boundaries regarding finances, resources, personnel, and Playhouse staff time;
- know the Playhouse staff is always working on more than one show at a time and will prioritize show needs appropriately;
- understand and respect that the Playhouse staff is always working on more than one show at a time and will prioritize show needs appropriately;
The Executive Director retains final artistic authority and may make adjustments to serve the best interests of the Playhouse, while honoring the contractor’s role and creative contributions.
Stipend starts at $1,500.
