• MAGPIE: Plays themself, as the storyteller, in every story, and BEAST in the Monster Story. Folksy alto, Gb3-D5.
• DEATH: Plays APPRENTICE in the War Story and YOUNG HUNTER in the Monster Story. Rock tenor (alternatively, low alto) D3-B4. Note these roles are written as explicitly male.
• JUSTICE: Plays ARCHER in the War Story and OLD HUNTER in the Monster Story. Heavy baritenor, Bb2-G4.
• JUDGEMENT: Plays ALTAIR in the Love Story, WORKER MAN in the War Story, and LEAD HUNTER in the Monster Story. Light baritone, A2-F4.
• TOWER: Plays EMPEROR in the Love Story and War Story and BUILDER in the Monster Story. Heavy bass, F2-Eb4.
