OLLI/PLAYHOUSE RADIOACTIVE PLAYERS Present GUYS AND DOLLS !

The Olli/Playhouse Radioactive Players will be holding auditions for a one-hour adaptation of GUYS AND DOLLS on March 31 and April 1 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Playhouse. Rehearsals will begin April 7 and will occur Mondays and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Performances will be May 19 at 2:00 p.m. and May 20 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Playhouse. This performance is rehearsed, but not memorized and the actors will be using their scripts during the show.

Those interested in auditioning should prepare 16 measures of a Broadway song (not from GUYS AND DOLLS). Bring your sheet music and a piano player will be provided. You may also be asked to read from the script.

GUYS AND DOLLS is often cited as the best Broadway musical ever. Based on Damon Runyon stories, the show tells the duo love stories of gambler, Sky Masterson and mission girl, Sister Sarah Brown and gambler, Nathan Detroit, and his long-term fiancée, Adelaide. The show features a book by Abe Burrows and music and lyrics by Frank Loesser. The hit score includes “Luck be a Lady,” “Bushel and a Peck,” “If I Were a Bell,” and “Sit Down, You’re Rocking the Boat.”

Morrie Enders will direct with Karen Howland as music director.
