"Matt Landis and the 'crew' did a fabulous job with the performance. I truely appreciated all the time and effort that I know must take place to put together a show of this caliber. The energy was so high that it took a while after the show for me to come down! Great job Matt and crew!"

"I would agree with Ms. Gormley. I think Simon is hot as well. But what about the two women priests... sexy mamas!!!!

"JC Superstar has always been one of my very favorite shows! It has been quite a while since I have seen it, or listened to the music from it. Thursday night's performance was like visiting an old friend (complete with goosebumps, laughter, and even tears!). The entire cast did a Great Job!!!!"

"The show...superb. The cast...incredible. Simon...hot!"
- Jennifer Gormley (Posted on 7/29/2002)
"Jesus Christ Superstar was a great show. It's not every show or cast that can take an audience from laughing to gasping to wincing to tears in the space of 2 hours.
I'm always amazed when I think about the effort all of you put into these productions above and beyond the contributions you already make as employees, employers, students, parents . . . Our community is lucky you're willing to share your considerable talents with us.
I'll really miss seeing LCP shows for the next couple years, so make sure there are lots of pictures on the web site!"

"Gary Hall asked me for a quote to use in an ad for the show that was in the paper last Sunday... thought I would share my comments here, too. (Gary was kind enough to edit down my words, but I figure this is a place I could be a bit more verbose)
JCSS is the perfect combination of strong voices, fabulous acting talent
and a solid musical experience.
The Lincoln Community Playhouse's production of JCSS left the
sold-to-the-rafters crowd wanting more. We couldn't get to our feet quickly
enough.
The energy from the cast and crew was only matched by the enthusiasm of the
audience. It was great to be a part of JCSS's opening night.
Hats off to Rob, Evan, Matthew, Laurie... the entire cast and crew's hard work and effort was apparent. Their commitment and passion for the show made it an amazing and memorable evening."

"Saw the show Sunday. Knowing somewhat the concept of the show was greatly helped me to enjoy the evening. I thought a number of the characterizations where very thought provoking; we talked a hour or so afterward about the show. Isn't that what good theatre is suppose to do!!! I really enjoyed the ending. Goosebumps. However, I as well as many people around us, had a hard time understanding the lyrics. The sound system was so loud that either it disorted what we heard or something else was a problem. Hopefully when I see it again next Thursday, with fresh voices, this will improve. Good show."

"Yet another fantastic production from LCP. The dynamic combination of exciting music, heart-felt character portrayals, and tremendous musical ability makes JCS a show that will appeal to most everyone. Lincoln is lucky to have LCP and so many wonderful performers who are willing to commit their energies toward putting on such a delightful show. "

"Incredible energy and emotion. Inspiring performances...truly a masterpiece. "

"One word! "Go see it" oh, wait that's three, yes, three times as many reasons to reserve your tickets for this show. Outstanding performers, awesome lyrics, and cool electronic music are just three of the many reasons you don't want to miss this show. The LCP knows how to do a show right! Congrats to all in the cast!"

"On opening night I was thrilled by the performance. The production had me leaving on an emotional high that only can be produced by a fabulous group effort. Judas, Pilate, Mary Magdelene, and Jesus all had me hanging on every note.
Evan's voice was created to sing this role. His appreciation of the personal struggle and loneliness I found deeply moving. Particularly the moment where he accepts his fate to live and die as Jesus Christ just had me undone as an audience member.
The energy of the ensemble I found crucial to the plot and a joy to watch. It gave a sense of the power this man, Jesus, held and the threat he posed to the Government. Without their enthusiasm, lost too is the power of a people's movement. And it was his power of influence that posed such a problem for the existing power structure.
I read the review and felt sorry for Larry Kubert that he did not share the same evening I did. I walked away from the theater in a cloud of inspiration and thoughfulness. I walked away that night and the only thing I could say was "WOW". I thought you were all amazing. "

"I saw JCS opening night and thought it was terrific- I enjoyed the whole cast and especially thought the three leads were awesome. I disagree with the review- especially the parts about Evan Rail- he's fantastic in this show! The supporting players are all solid as well. Overall a highly entertaining show."

"best show i've ever worked in!!!!!!!
awesome show!!!!!!"

"I saw Jesus Christ Superstar last night at opening night. Then, I read the review in the Journal Star this morning. I strongly disagree with their review of Rail's performance as Jesus. I have seen JC Superstar performed by 4 different playhouses and it is my favorite musical. I think Rail's emotions and voice were amazing and his performance as Jesus is one of the best I have seen.
I will admit that I didn't believe anything that 2 of the female camp followers did. I thought those two girls were just going through their choreography and not feeling a thing.
The rest of the cast was VERY strong and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. "
