    Ed Dir Accepted to NYU

    We are pleased to announce that our Education Director, Jane Schiermeyer, has been accepted into a three summer Masters of Arts program in Educational Theatre for Colleges and Communities at New York University! Jane plans to specialize in Theatre for Young Audiences and Play Production and will have the opportunity to study youth theatre in London, England and community drama in Dublin, Ireland. Congratulations Jane!

    AACT National Award

    Lincoln Community Playhouse recently received the Twink Lynch Organizational Achievement Award from the American Association of Community Theatre (AACT). This award “recognizes AACT member theaters for successfully completing major steps in new directions, expanding services to their community, or moving to the next level of organizational development.”
    Executive Director Morrie Enders will accept the award at the AACT conference in New York City in July.

    The Playhouse's Executive Director, Morrie Enders, recently was named Lincoln's Nonprofit Executive of the Year for 2015 by the Association of Nonprofit Executives!

  • The Mayor's Arts Award 2015 was awarded to the Playhouse for their production of The Penguin Project: Annie Jr.
    The Penguin Project ® was conceived by Dr. Andrew Morgan, where young artists with special needs are paired with peer mentors to create a theatre production.
    Lincoln Community Playhouse was the first community theatre outside of Illinois to partner with The Penguin Project. We're excited to bring you Beauty and the Beast in Spring, 2016!

  • Read Aloud Champion

    Read Aloud Champion

    LCP recently was named the Read Aloud Champion for 2015 by Read Aloud Nebraska.
    LCP was recognized for work in providing free books to children at Title I performances, partnering with Gere Public Library to promote reading, and for Theatre Arts summer camp Stage Manager, Emily Moore's active role in reading to camp students.

Itty Bitty Actors Series: Autumn Leaves

Location: Lincoln Community Playhouse
Description: This class was especially designed with the Itty Bitty Actor in mind! Explore the themes of fall through acting and movement exercises, as well as crafts. For newcomers and the seasoned itty bitty actors alike, this class guarantees a fun time for all!

Taught by Jessie Dillehay with assistance from Andy Dillehay

Ages 4 to 6
8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Saturdays September 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th

Cost: $65 for nonsubscribers/$60 for season subscribers.
