A Book For All Kids
A Book For All Kids (ABFAK) is a collaboration of LCP, the Lincoln City Libraries, and the Lincoln Journal Star. ABFAK was started in 2003.
It encourages reading by providing FREE books to all 3rd grade students in public and private schools in Lincoln and surrounding communities. Students read the same book at the same time. (It is similar to "One Book, One Lincoln" for adult readers.)
ABFAK was created to promote literacy and the arts, but it also fosters discussion skills, independent thinking, and family-centered activities.
In 2007, ABFAK will feature "James and the Giant Peach" by Roald Dahl. LCP will produce the stage adaptation from May 4 - 20. The reading experience ties to the theatre experience - from page to stage - through enrichment activities sponsored and held at LCP and Lincoln City Libraries.
