Job Description
Spring Semester: January 8-May 13, 2018 (dependent on individual schedule)

The intent of the Technical Internship is to provide a hands-on experience of the inner workings of technical production in a non-profit community theatre. The duties assigned are designed to encompass entry level through intermediate level of all technical areas of theatre - basics in construction techniques, shop tools, painting techniques, lighting and electrical, sound; understanding ground plans and drawings; and understanding how technical elements work together in a production.

The Technical Internship is aimed at the serious student looking for opportunities in technical theatre. The student must be highly self-motivated, responsible and a team player.

The student will report and work closely with the Technical Director. Hours typically 12-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with some weekends expected.

An appropriate project requiring demonstration of leadership and technical skills learned will be coordinated with the Technical Director.

Three references that include at least one school administrator

Deadline for application is August 1, 2017 for fall semester and November 1, 2017 for spring semester.
