LINCOLNITE WINS DIAMOND JUBILEE RAFFLE
AT THE LINCOLN COMMUNITY PLAYHOUSE
Congratulations Phyllis Beck ... winner of the Diamond Jubilee Raffle sponsored by the Lincoln Community Playhouse (LCP) and Nebraska Diamond! Beck’s name was drawn from 965 entries on opening night of A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO FORUM, which kicked off Season 60 at LCP.
As the overture for A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM played in the Oliver T. Joy Mainstage Theatre, Beck received a call informing her that she was the lucky winner of a 14K white gold lady’s anniversary ring set with three .37 carat diamonds. The ring, donated by Nebraska Diamond, is valued at $1,100.
“I’ve never won anything in my life,” exclaimed Beck. She was presented with the ring at LCP on September 2nd by Melissa Epp, LCP Executive Director.
“Phyllis is a subscriber and patron of the Lincoln Community Playhouse,” explained Epp, “and we were as thrilled as she was! Thank goodness she was home when we called, because that’s one message you want to deliver in person!”
The Diamond Jubilee Raffle is one of the special events planned for Season 60. “The diamond is the icon of our 60 years of community theatre and 60 years of community support,” Epp continued. “Looking back at treasured memories that include photographs and scripts; newsletters, programs, and even reviews – I am amazed! We want everyone to join us in this anniversary celebration!”
