Posted by Bryan Johnson on 11/02/2011
The OLLI/Playhouse Radioactive Players will present WAR OF THE WORLDS by Howard Koch on Monday, November 7 at 1:00 pm on the Mainstage. The radio drama is produced through the kind permission of Anne Koch.
WAR OF THE WORLDS remains famous because of the original Orson Welles broadcast in 1938. At the time, it created much panic as listeners believed it was a news account of an actual Martian landing in New Jersey!
Appearing in the show are Dorene Casey, David Crews, Stephen Gaines, Lyla Garner, Ken Gettman, Carolyn Harp, Barbara Hetcko, Jacquelyn Hummel, Joseph Kinnaman, Tanna Kinnaman, Jeanie Kissler, Kathryn Phipps, Leta Powell Drake, Richard Terrell, David Thomssen, Margie Thomssen, and Lois Ullman. Dorothy Applebee will be providing music and Morrie Enders will direct.
Tickets for WAR OF THE WORLDS are free, with a suggested donation of a non-perishable food item or personal care product which will be donated to the Lincoln Food Bank. Tickets may be reserved by calling 402-472-6265 or emailing olli@unl.edu
